What is Rewilding?

At Biofarm, we're on a mission to reverse decades of environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and the impacts of climate change. Our primary focus is to help clients meet the requirements for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) through rewilding, and we're excited to share our latest video that showcases our commitment to this cause.

Rewilding encompasses a wide range of actions aimed at restoring and protecting the natural environment. We firmly believe that, in some cases, the best approach is to let nature take its course, allowing natural ecosystem processes to recover, while in other instances, a more targeted intervention may be necessary.

We work closely with landowners, developers, and local planning authorities, offering a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for BNG delivery. Our goal is to enhance the natural capital benefits of currently degraded or agriculturally marginal land, ultimately boosting biodiversity and the ecosystem services of the land.

Our approach is unique in the sense that we collaborate with landowners and farmers to guide them through the process of assessing their land's biodiversity value and facilitate the sale of Biodiversity Units. What sets us apart is that we ensure landowners not only receive the full agricultural value of their land but also a share of the profits generated from the sale of Biodiversity Units, all while retaining complete ownership over their land. We firmly believe that sustainability should go hand in hand with economic success.

For developers and housebuilders, we take on the statutory burden of delivering Biodiversity Net Gain, meaning they can focus on their core business. Our services extend from BNG forecasting during pre-planning to the final delivery of Biodiversity Units. But we don't stop there. We take on the responsibility and liability of managing habitats for the entire 30-year term.
